67 minutes for Mandela!
Cape Studies, celebrated Nelson Mandela’s 93 birthday on Monday by gathering a group of volunteers (teachers and students) to help the community.
The students were divided into two groups: cleaning cots at Somerset hospital and feeding the homeless at The Haven (shelter). Our students were very excited when they heard about this project and eagerly joined forces to shop and cook for the homeless, while the other team shopped for cleaning products. Students enthusiastically carried out their duties and came back to school with satisfied look on their faces. But most importantly, their participation put a smile on many faces and aided to make a difference in the community.

We divided the school into four continents: Africa, South America, Europe and Asia
Each nationality represented their continent through music, food and drinks, pictures and posters about their countries.
Our students with the assistance of our teachers put a lot of effort into this project and it was a great success. Students and teachers both had lots of fun, interacted with each other and are now better informed about the different cultures.
